    Ballard of Greenwich, Kent

In the Herald's Visitation of co. Nottingham made in 1614 there is a pedigree of four generations, from Phillip Ballard of Greenwich, co. Kent, who had William of Southwell, co. Nottingham, who had Henry, of Southwell living 1614 with sons Thomas, William and Phillip. They were allowed the Arms: Sable a Griffin Ermine, and Crest, a Griffin's head and raised wings ermine.

A Griffin's head and wings, ermine, beaked gules.
